The Southeastern Vet to Vet Peer Support, Inc. program exists to utilize the strengths and talents of recovering veterans in a peer educator capacity. We help other veterans understand and navigate the Veterans Administration system. This program follows a recovery based model that involves veterans as both consumers and providers of mental health, physical and substance abuse support services.
•To build a personal support system.
•To develop goals and a plan of action.
•Create a safe environment for veterans to openly discuss their (personal) life concerns.
•To create a venue that will heighten awareness of the recovery process.
•To increase knowledge through education and shared experiences.
•To learn the effects and impact of having mental illness.
